Meet Judge Ramirez
BIO / ROBERT RAMIERZ
Robert Ramirez has served as the Judge of County Court at Law No. 2 in Denton County since August 2010 and has completed over 86,000 cases since taking the bench. Before taking the bench, Robert was an associate at Jones Day in Dallas, working primarily on mergers and acquisitions. Robert later opened a law office in Denton County with his wife Laura, a briefing attorney at the Dallas Court of Appeals. This practice focused on both business law and trial work.
Robert attended law school at SMU where he served as an Associate Corporate Counsel Symposium Editor for the SMU Law Review and graduated cum laude. Before obtaining his law degree Robert obtain an MBA from Texas A&M University. Robert has served on the Curriculum Committee and the Board of Directors. As chairman of the Texas Center for the Judiciary Board, the non-profit is charged with all judicial education in Texas.
He has also served as the President of the County Court Judges Association and was named the Denton County Public Elected Official of the Year in 2012. Robert has been an officer of several Republican Clubs and has served as an officer of the Republican Party, including as Outreach Chair, Programs Chair, and Parliamentarian. He has also received the Chairman's Award since 2009.
He has also served on the boards of several non-profits in Denton County, including Health Services of North Texas, the Children's Advocacy Center, PediPlace, and DATCU. He has also served as a Trustee for the Denton Baptist Association and on the Safety Team for his church. He and his wife have been married for 24 years and have two children attending Texas A&M University.
